Farmer Government Crumbles in Manitoba Legislature
Premier Bracken learns the House of Farmers loses its dominance as agrarian lawmakers shrink to a minority. In the 10th Manitoba legislature, only 17 farmers are listed, with nine lawyers, various other professions, and Bracken himself ambiguously described as a farmer in The Pas.

Experimental Farm Notes on Forage Seedings and Drought
Extreme drought in Jane and July reduced spring seedings of grasses and legumes. Many farmers face hay and pasture shortages in 1937. Seedings show satisfactory results for sweet clover alfalfa and brome gyrase up to mid August if conditions are ideal and no nurse crop is used. Late August and early September seedings can work only in emergencies on moist firm seed beds with cool damp weather. Fall rye or fall rye oats mixtures seeded late August or September are preferred as substitutes to perennial fodder seedings.
