Playground upgrades underway at Oak River meeting

At the July 7 session the Local Unicorporated District committee approved replacing the west side playground sidewalk and part of the Roberts frontage sidewalk. Fencing will be cut to two and a half feet above ground. Sand box posts and materials are ordered. The shed removal and west relocation were discussed, with expansion land to be rezoned as a public road. A $20 per truck charge for liquid waste disposal was proposed, black dirt stockpiled for LUD use, and waste site dirt priced at $2 per yard. A wheelbarrow purchase was debated, with a truck seen as more useful. A 12 inch culvert across the west Oak River road was recommended for drainage, and mowing of Oak Dale Senior Housing outskirts to continue in 1997 with 1998 reimbursement if needed.
