The Belt Community Futures Development Corporation elected a new executive with Rick Verspeek of Killarney as chair Fred McGuinness of Cornwallis as vice chair and Todd McKim of Brandon as secretary treasurer Eight new board members were appointed to three year terms chosen for local development experience and geographic representation

Hamiota R M awards grant to Light Horse Assoc

The Hamiota RM held its eleventh regular meeting on September 20 and approved an 8000 grant to the Light Horse Association. Four thousand of the funds are a loan and 3000 a grant from VLT revenue. The council also criticized Bill C 68 and approved road trenching by Manitoba Hydro. New board members were named for regional posts. The Wheat Belt CFDC continues to fund regional development with loans and job creation.
