The Crandall WI Bread Baking Contest is cancelled until further notice. The notice lists Mary Warner as winning four of seven hot pools on the World Series at the Bank last week. A separate notice announces a supper hosted by the Hamiota Few on Monday October 29 at 5:30 pm with prices 75 cents for adults and 40 cents for children under 12.
The Explore Group and the Christmas Tea and Novelty Sale are scheduled for December 1 at the Orange Hall from 3 to 5 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Other local notices cover bake contests, church events, and a community banquet with details on dates and times.

Crandall C.G.LT. met in the church basement on Friday September 21 with a song and lunch. Leaders for 1956-57 are Mrs H Hyndman Miss Joan Teal and assistant Miss Donna Walker. Officers include President Sharon Rudd Vice President Glenda Smith Secretary Norma White Vee-Secretary Jo Anne Fowlie Treasurer Sharlene Morison Organist Glenda Smith Worship Jackie Vance and Linda OConner Assistant Organist Jackie Vance Recreation Committee Anne Fowlie Judy Smith. Teal and Hyndman spoke on GI T uniforms and duties. Judy Smith read a Bible chapter. Meeting closed with taps.
Rexall Drug Store announces the Fall Zone Sale with over 250 bargains. The event runs Wednesday through Saturday October 17 to 20 featuring two for the price of one and 1 cent offers. McNaughts Rexall Drug Store promotes the shopping event.
The Thankoffering Meetings featured the film If You Lived in Malaya to entertain both younger girls and Evening Auxiliary members. Explorers participated, with 23 members answering roll calls, plus 12 Explorers and 2 leaders Ada Baxter Gladys Baker among attendees, and a dainty lunch served by the committee.
