Readiness for Borden Meeting in the Rink

Threshing underway as good weather aids grain harvest
The past week’s fine weather has spurred threshing with a dozen outfits near town. Wheat has begun to be marketed with much of it graded 2 and 3 Northern and some higher quality. About sixteen cars have been shipped from the area so far amid uneven grades.
Aberdeen youth returns after summer on local farm
Wm. Lovey of Aberdeen Scotland came back this week after a summer on a local farm. He praises the district for farming prospects and plans to return next spring to buy a farm of his own.

Four cars of wheat were shipped this fall from points south of town via the G T P. Shippers include Thos. Morrison R. Ross W. Rankin and B. Brown. Wheat from the Edens and Pope loading platforms is reported to grade above average and to be a good sample for the year. Farmers along the line can obtain cars within three days of ordering. orders left with the train crew will be attended to. Regular freight trains now run daily from Portage to Miniota, aiding marketing of the crop.
