Obituary of Adam Rutherford Aged 83 in Hamiota District
Adam Rutherford of the Hamiota district died after a week long illness at 83 years 11 months. He was born in County Down Ireland emigrated to Philadelphia then Canada living in Hastings County and Bruce County before settling near Hamiota. He married Mary Ann Boal in 1866 and left behind eight surviving children and many relatives. Funeral was held at Hamiota cemetery with a large turnout.
