Organizers of the Hamiota Trade Fair report strong vendor participation and attendance for the third annual show at the Hamiota and District Sports Complex. Larry Oakden notes 40 booths and three car dealers, up from 1992, with weather and harvest timing affecting turnout. Next year’s fair will be held the weekend after Thanksgiving with a revised date.

The crop season April 1 to Sept 30 logged two days over 30 C in 1993, versus more in 1992, with total rainfall about 466 mm to September.

MPIC Seeks Autopac Rate Cuts for 412,000 Manitoba Owners
MPIC filed with the PUB proposing rate reductions that could affect about 412,000 vehicle owners next February. About 260,000 passenger vehicles would see a seven percent drop on a typical $450 premium, while 300,000 vehicles stay the same and motorcycle dealer plates rise.
