Hamiota Women Form Association Elects Officers
Mrs Wilfred Cochrane was elected president of the Hamiota Association on Friday September 19. Vice-President is Mrs W W Kirk and Sec Treasurer is Mrs J M Williams. Miss Hilda Hesson National director of the Progressive Conservative Women of Canada spoke, as did Mrs John Paxton president of the Conservative Womens Association of Manitoba. Next meeting set for October 17 at the Rest Room.

Arline Lillian Fawns and William George Davey wed at Gladstone United Church on October 4 1952 with Rev Bewell officiating. The wedding featured a lace and satin gown, peplum back, tulle veil, and Bible bouquets, followed by a reception for 65 and a honeymoon to Winnipeg. The couple will reside on the groom’s Westbourne farm with out of town guests noted.

Electors of Rural Municipality of Hamiota meet October 14 1952 at Orange Hall Hamiota to nominate Councillors for Wards 4 5 and 6 for 1943 1954 terms. Nomination papers require official declarations and treasurer certificates. If a poll is needed it will be held October 24 1952 at designated ward halls. Also includes notice of glee club formation and new sports director Murray Richardson at the Collegiate with plans for Provincial Track and field meet.
