Roundup time in the Rockies by the Stoney Indians
The annual wiunverse roundup begins 100 miles west of Rocky Mountain House in the Rocky Mountains valleys. Most horses will be sold for fur farms while some will be kept for Indigenous use. The herds trace to long-running Kootenay Plains stock and pack-train remnants, with chiefs estimating about 1000 horses in the roundups. Snow melts quickly in the warm valley as wranglers corral wild horses in groups, catching up to fifty over weeks.

Ergot in Feed Grains Warned For 1955 Crops
Ergot, a fungus affecting rye barley and wheat, is present in normal to above normal quantities in 1955 crops. Traces in livestock feeds do not injure but reduce palatability and gain. One tenth of one percent ergot is dangerous for pregnant animals and may cause abortion or ergotism. Remove ergot by winnowing or washing and mix with ergot free grain to lower levels. Avoid ergotted feed for pregnant animals.
