The Birdtail River School Division No. 38 held a September 25 1969 meeting at Shoal Lake. Trustees approved minutes, received correspondence, and appointed Ray Simms as half time Supervisor of Physical Education. They accepted the superintendent’s report and several building and land tenders, approved purchase of an Advance Carpet Sweeper, and urged the minister of education to amend kindergarten grant rules to 40 pupils. The board adjourned to October 2 1969.

U C C W Meet September Decker unit gathers at home
The Decker U C C W met at Mrs Wes Gregory's home on September 25 at 8 pm with 14 members present. Mrs Hunter opened with a thought for the day A Good Word and Mrs Nichol led the worship. Minutes and treasurer's report were read and a supply list discussed. Gifts for Red Sucker Lake were arranged and one flower arrangement sent to the bereaved. A wedding catering inquiry was noted. Mrs Rockley reported on the Presbytery meeting in Hamiton on September 21. The meeting adjourned and new chapter on Family Life in China was discussed.

Anniversary celebrated for Mr and Mrs Robert Allen

Born in Ireland and Ontario respectively they married in Brandon on September 24 1919 and farmed near Oak River until retirement in 1965.
