Assessment reform changes announced

Government outlines a ten year phased reform aiming at equal treatment of residential properties by reducing variation in assessments. By year ten all residential properties will be taxed at 45 percent of value including single family homes owner occupied units and rental units with changes to other classes noted but minimal impact on tax bills for railways and commercial properties.
