Economy Heading Upward Says Manitoba Premier
Premier Sterling Lyon told the Union of Manitoba Municipalities banquet that Manitoba's economy is headed in the right direction with rising activity in 1978. He cited 13.5 percent manufacturing shipments, 11.5 percent retail gains, 10 percent private capex, 36 percent housing starts, and 24 percent farm cash receipts in the first nine months.

50th Anniversary Celebrated at Hamiota Center
About 200 relatives and friends gathered at the Hamiota Community Centre on November 18 1978 to honor Fred and Margaret Asselstine on their Golden Wedding Anniversary.
