Manitoba facility funding needs fair rural access

The Manitoba Community Places Program funded Daycare Playgrounds and arena upgrades across the province but capped support at 75000. A tri agreement among Manitoba, MB Sports Federation and Winnipeg created 15 million for major facilities like John Blumberg Stadium, yet rural funding remains unsettled and Winnipeg-led projects dominate. A Brandon baseball facility benefited in 1991 while rural towns await formal rural support. The piece urges equal funding and merit based evaluation for all Manitobans to ensure widespread facility development.
