Seedtime and Harvest Seed Testing Expansion This Year

Last year two germinators with 300 samples weekly were installed to test small grain seeds including wheat oats barley rye and flax. About 5 000 samples were sent by line elevator grain buyers to aid farmers in seed value judgment. Dormancy can cause underestimation of germination, now addressed with a pre chilling process. The lab capacity may be exceeded this year due to weathered grain, so send samples early via elevator company grain buyers.
