The first Birtte Presbyterial rally met at Decker United Church on October 23 with 85 in attendance. Mrs. Sanford McFarland, Cardale Presbyterial President, presided.
Sunday services begin at 10 45 a m to observe Remembrance Day silence at 11 00 a m with a Junior Sunday School at the same time Readings honor the fallen will be read by the Legion A hall dedication is set for Sunday November 18 with two services 9 45 and 11 a m Parents and children attend the 11 a m service before 10 45 a m for the dedication in the new hall Nursery service planned for under 3s in the CG LT with volunteers from others The UCW and local church groups report on curriculum and education in East Asia and Christian Education for all ages with talks, Bible studies, and camp reports The question box provides answers for local organizations.
A CGIT rally drew 144 girls and leaders to Birtle School Auditorium on October 27. Delegates from Deckor Foxwarren Hamiota Isabella Miniota Rossburn Russell Selsgirth Birtle and the Birtle Indian School attended. The program featured worship Bible study games a skit The Mutilated Uniform and a filmstrip Hong Kong Land of Refuge plus tea and dainties.

Jane Morison Kerr widow of Alexander Kerr of 1246 Broughton Street and formerly of Hamiota Manitoba died suddenly on October 29 1962 in her 86th year. Survived by son C P Kerr of Vancouver two daughters Mrs Vi Hou and Mrs Louise Pellatt all of Vancouver a sister Mrs Margaret Lothian of Vancouver five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral at Simmons and McBride Funeral Chapel Broadway at Maple St with Rev Duncan Wilkie officiating. Interment Ocean View Burial Park.
Birdtail River School Division No 38 presents October enrollment and attendance figures. Grade 9 33, Grade 10 48, Grade 11 37, Grade 12 23. total 141. Average daily attendance 136, percentage 96.45. No withdrawals. 21 days open. Names include Harry Andrew Grade 12 among pupils paid in lieu of transportation.
The Rivers plant announced a profitable year and cleaned over two thousand bushels of grain. Directors praised progress but noted ongoing issues with obtaining enough grain to run continuously six days a week. The core challenge remains securing adequate grain supply for full operation.
