Residents return from Winnipeg and Paris attendances as families plan winter, church events, elections, bazaars, a marriage in London England, and upcoming public meetings. Armistice service plans, nominations for mayor council and school trustees, and a sold stock sale are noted along with subscription reminders and a Christmas bazaar.
Demonstrates Canada’s will for world law action with broadcasts on November 1 9 and 14 1937 EST. Remembrance Day ceremony features Brigadier General Alex Ross DSO Dominion President of the Canadian Legion pledging support for a national peace campaign and participation by national organizations.
Warrant issued by the Reeve directs sale by public auction of parcels in Hamiota for arrears of taxes and costs. If not paid, sale set for Wednesday December 15 1937 at 2 pm in the Council Chamber. William T. Andrew, Sec Treasurer seeks payment before auction.
Yan Decker hosts an Autumn Thanksgiving Service on Sunday evening at 7 30. Shoal Lake Players present A Regiment of Two Friday at Decker Memorial Hall with 25 cent admission. Richard Kent Players praised for The Heart of Alaska. Mrs Arthur Mallard attended a surprise shower for Miss Marjorie Clack. prior to marriage, Mrs Mallard was Maggie Madsen. C.G.I.T. reorganizes at Doreen Decker’s home with new officers. Meetings are every other Saturday at 2 40 clock. Dr Roy Hodgson of Saskatoon visited en route to Ontario. Cecil Decker and Harvey Linta attend the Shoal Lake Agricultural School.
