Hamiota Auxiliary meets as snow disrupts plans and funds rise

Hamiota District Health Centre Auxiliary reported 15 districts represented, April meeting canceled by snow, May 25 gathering sizable receipts of 697.25 from the Hospital Tea. A motion to disband with the hospital cart was raised. Funds support Ronald McDonald House. loans offered for RN and practical nursing training. June 5 dinner in Lenore with speaker Mrs. Neil Cameron. Other notes include grant of vehicle lift bus, new tables, rusted sinks replacement, and accreditation set for June.

Centennial Ceramic Show and Tea Success

The Hamiota Ceramic Club hosted its annual Display and Tea on May 17 in the Community Hall. President Pat Kirk welcomed Rev. Lynas who opened the show and praised founder Inza Houck. Prizes went to Laura Stephens for a pitcher and bowl set and Pearl Kidd for a teapot and cream and sugar. Jamie Nykoliation won a plate door prize. The club plans a booth at the Hamiota Fair with displays and a grocery hamper raffle.
