The Women's Institute organized a cemetery cleaning bee at Hamida drawing well over a hundred volunteers by 3 pm. They tidied graves, removed mould, and provided tea refreshments, proposing annual events to honor the dead and beautify the burial ground. The afternoon featured talks from three college girls about student life, studies, and university athletics, praising the institute's educational value.
