Manitoba joins NISA cash safety net for farmers
Manitoba will participate in the Net Income Stabilization Account and expect up to 35 million in cash support for producers. Agriculture Minister Glen Findlay says NISA will smooth annual farm income with deposits up to two percent of eligible net sales and dollar-for-dollar federal provincial matching, plus a 20 percent additional allocation and five-year carryforward. Eligible commodities include grains, oilseeds and specialty crops for the 1990 tax year, with GRIP also providing coverage.

Care and Maintenance of annuals
Winnipeg gardeners learn to select quality bedding plants, focusing on dark green stocky plants with minimal blooms. After planting, prepare well tilled soil, plant at pack depth, remove blooms at transplant, water thoroughly, and use transplant fertilizer to reduce shock. Monitor for pests and nutrient needs, staking heavy plants, and remove dead blooms and diseased matter promptly.
