Germany Tests Potatoes as Animal Feed Substitute

Germany experiments with potatoes as feed for horses and poultry while using them for pigs in mash mixtures with barley and milk. The Agricultural Department of the Canadian National Railways notes 1937 potato output around 50 million tons, up from 46 million in 1936 and 40 million in 1935, with plans to use the surplus largely for animal feed and restrictions on ceresis feed for livestock.

Oakner United Charge Service Schedule

The schedule lists church services and Sunday School times across Oakner Scotia and Chumah. Rev J Dunnett leads Oakner with an 11 am service and 12 pm Sunday School, Scotia hosts a 1:30 pm service and 2:30 pm Sunday School, Chumah holds 2:15 pm Sunday School and 3:00 pm service.

Hamiota School Receives Autographed Screen Photographs

On Friday afternoon May 6 the Hamiota School received autographed photographs of favorite screen stars. Cora Sue Colline’s mother helped arrange the gifts, with framing by Mrs Chambers. Principal Rutten and School Board Chairman Benapest expressed gratitude and noted the photos would boost interest in the school’s art collection.
