Rev Harold L Newton leads nation al and personal intercession on Thursday 7 30 to 7 45 pm. On Sunday May 11 1941 the 4th Sunday after Easter Mother s Day an evening service and sermon begin at 7 o clock.
Pray together at Christ Church every Thursday from 7 30 to 7 45. Take a brief respite from daily tasks to seek comfort and strength in the House of God.
The Hamiota United Church schedules a May 11 11 a.m. Mother’s Day service combining regular worship and Sunday School. An afternoon Mother and Daughter service features the C.G.I.T. group with the theme What can a Girl do. A Sunday school picnic is set for Salt Lake on June 25.
W H Josey topped a Venables Hardware rug competition by crafting around 350 four letter words from CONGOLEUM and VENABLES. Judges noted the words existed in the dictionary, though some seemed unlikely.
On the 25th day of May 1896, His Grace the Archbishop of Rup ert's Land erected the mission of Hamiota into a parish named Christ Church. The 45th anniversary falls this year on a Sunday and may be observed fittingly.
A daughter was born at Hamiota Hospital on Friday May 2 1941 to Mr and Mrs Ross McNaught of Hamiota Manitoba. The baby named Helen Maxine joins the family.
