Obituary James Henry Nesbitt Dies at 56
Funeral service for James Henry Nesbitt 56 was held at Rivers Anglican church March 15 after he died at his Rivers home March 10. Rev M Green officiated and burial was in Oak River cemetery. Pallbearers were Fred Glint Harry Parker Gereld Post Leonard Nesbitt Lorne Nesbitt and E Corbet. He was born in Oak River and lived there until moving with his sister to Rivers two and a half years ago. Surviving are six sisters Mrs Crerar Mrs C Stewart Rivers Mrs H Johnson Bradwardine Mrs E S Glint Mrs J Ursell Winnipeg and Mrs E Le Barron Brandon.

Selkirk Station to Add Large Manitoba Power Capacity
The Manitoba Hydro Electric Board plans a Selkirk steam turbine station to supply 132 000 kilowatts to southern Manitoba, with two 66 000 kW units and potential expansion to 30 090 kW. Construction near Selkirk will include temporary services and a new transmission line to Winnipeg, enabling future growth to eight Mc capacity.

Hamiota Young Adults Meet to Discuss Sunday Schools
The Hamiota Young Adults met at the home of Dr and Mrs J E Hudson on Sunday March 10 at 6 30 PM. The group discussed Our Troubled Sunday Schools with ministers arguing for new methods to redeem the hour. Three discussion groups formed and key questions addressed were teen disinterest attendance methods and leadership training. The next meeting is set for March 24 at Mr and Mrs George Bakers. Fertilizing Prairie Soils a new handbook on prairie fertilizer practices is now available from Cominco. The intricate brochure explains fertilizer use on the prairies with photos charts and a background of Cominco’s 25 years of prairie work. It can be obtained free by writing to Cominco Sales Department A Calgary Alberta.
