The Birdtail River School Division Board of Trustees approved four unpaid leaves at its Feb 22 meeting in Crandall. Jacki Kasto, Ruthann Kitching, Donna Brown, and Jackie Brooks received specific dates for training and medical leave. The board also authorized attendance at MACS convention and approved CEO Ron Van Den Bussche’s Ottawa seminar. Harvey Brown hired half time at Decker Colony School through June 30, 1995. An ad hoc committee will study the Lee catchment boundary. Next meeting set for March 8 in Crandall.
The Canadian Cancer Society Daffodil Days return April 5 to 8 with daffodil bunches available for $4 prepaid. To order ten blooms contact Rosalie Beamish by March 15 and consider gifting or remembrance alongside cancer research support.
The Donor's Choice canvass runs March 15 to April 15 with charities including Alzheimer Society Arthritis Society Canadian Cancer Society Canadian Diabetes Association Canadian Mental Health Association Kidney Foundation Manitoba Lung Association Multiple Sclerosis Society Red Cross Salvation Army and more. Canvassers may pick up envelopes March 8 and 9 from 9 00 a.m. to 5 30 p.m. at Norma Sheardown in Hamiota Super Thrifty Drug Mart.
