Manitoba seeks nominations for aging recognition awards
Nominations are now being accepted for the Manitoba Council on Aging Recognition Award honoring exceptional acts benefiting seniors. Minister Jack Reimer announced the 1997 created award, inviting organizations, businesses and individuals to submit details on candidates and impacts with a deadline of April 15 and a June ceremony at the Legislative Building.

Hamiota Sets 1999 Indemnities For Council
Hamiota town council approved 1999 indemnities at the Feb 4 meeting. Rates set: Mayor 4800 yearly, Deputy Mayor 4200 yearly, council members 3840 yearly, plus 80 daily for out of town meetings and 0.30 per km mileage. The council also donated 100 to Westman Kidsport Fund and directed CAO actions including seminar registration, letters of support, and job-post advertising.
