Care Of Rubber Belting Maintenance Tip
A cheap and effective method to keep a rubber belt in good condition and prevent slippage is to apply 20 to 30 drops of vegetable castor oil weekly on a small belt or about one quarter to one half ounce on a main drive belt. Mineral oil should never be used on rubber belts. Most commercial belt dressings are unsuitable unless advised by the belting manufacturer. Leave rubber belts on the pulleys day and night in all weather.
