RCMP Promotes Kevin Harrison to Inspector in Ontario

After under two years in Hamiota, Corporal Kevin Harrison, with 21 years of RCMP service, is promoted to inspector and reassigned to lead the Proceeds of Crime division in southwestern Ontario with 27 officers. His replacement arrives late August, while other transfers include Cst Phil Noonan moving from Treherne to Hamiota and Cst Pat Clark from Shoal Lake taking command there. Jan Skayman retires after 23 years as part time office clerk at end of June.

Shoal Lake to gain 12-bed health facility upgrade

The MRHA reports the Shoal Lake-Strathclair Health Centre will have 12 beds, up from eight, following a board request. Project cost is estimated at 3.77 million with tendering set for early 1999 and construction planned to start in spring 1999, attached to the local personal care home.
