In loving memory of Viola Bomford who died June 22 1955. The sorrow and shock of losing our darling daughter and sister are felt deeply by her heartbroken mum dad and brother. She will live in our memory forever. Always remembered and sadly missed.

William Atkinson dies after long illness at 83
Funeral service held May 29 at Hamiota United Church for William James Atkinson aged 83. He died at Brandon General Hospital after a monthlong illness. Born in Whittlesea England he emigrated to Canada in 1901 later working as a farm laborer, well digger, and railway section man before retirement. He leaves two daughters one son 18 grandchildren 28 great grandchildren and 25 great great grandchildren. Pallbearers named and McConnell Bros. in charge of arrangements.

Evening Auxiliary Meeting Glows with Civic Talk in Hamiota
In Hamiota on June 12, 28 members and 23 visitors attended the United Church gathering of the Evening Auxiliary. Mrs. Jean Smith welcomed guests while Mrs. Vira Taylor chaired a Citizenship program tied to a Presbyterial address by Mrs. Connelly. A film Cry Story delighted attendees before a parish lunch.

Tillage Machinery Field Day Near Hamiota Hosts Demonstrations
The Hamida Crop Improvement Club sponsors a field day on June 28 at 1 30 p m on Russ Asselstine farm three miles south of Hamiota near Park's Coffee Bar. Agricultural Engineer Doug Thomson will demonstrate tillage implement setup and adjustments and answer questions. The McConnell Fat Stock show and sale follows on Saturday June 30 at 11 a m.
