The Annual convention of the Manitoba Sunday School Association will be held in Brandon on June 26 27 and 28.
Directors of the Agri Cultural Society held a meeting chaired by President M B Jackson. LD Moir resigned and R A Hacking was appointed to fill the vacancy. Dates August 14 and 15 were approved for the fair, with prize rules and exhibit times set, and committees named for grounds, games, and various exhibits.
A lone man from a G T P construction camp south of Oak River died on an early train after a note requested he be dropped at Rapid City. No name could be obtained. Witnesses suspected diphtheria from the symptoms observed.
First settler HH Turner visits the city after about 90 years and recalls predicting CPR routes. Lord Strathcona notes roads will come to Miniota, now seeing roads and railways reaching farms. District praised as among the best in the west with farming advantages. Lacrosse schedule set for Monday night.
An urgent order arrived from Winnipeg declaring smallpox precautions in Miniota. The town eased isolation after two patients were found and boarded, with residents quarantined outside the town. The hotel was closed for thorough overhaul and disinfection.
The Lavinia church holds anniversary services with Rev C Parker and Rev W Ross preaching, plus special music. A Monday tea follows at 6 to 8, then movrarume. Finals of a garden party top tournament occur Monday afternoon with Crandell Lavim Raven Lake as remaining contenders.
Mr Gus E. Geroux of Pembroke recounts a lumber camp accident in which a heavy log crushed his leg causing stiffness and swelling. He says Polson's Nerviline gave relief after rubbing, noting its use for neuralgia, colds, rheumatism and internal disorders. Large bottles cost 25c at dealers.
