Hamiota School Bandstage Spring Concert
On Monday June 5 the Hamiota School Band held its annual spring concert before an audience of over 100. Grade 6 Grade 7 and 8 and Senior Bands played selections from Phantom of the Opera and marching tunes as they prep for upcoming engagements. The Hamiota Senior Chorus directed by Linda Conner with Audrey Lints accompanying sang three numbers including Manitoba.

Seat Belt Survivors Club Opens In Manitoba In 1982
The Seat Belt Survivors Club, created by the Manitoba Safety Council and funded by MPIC, honors those saved from serious injury or death by seat belts. Open to survivors, applications are available at safety council offices, MPIC claim centres, police stations, and RCMP detachments. New members receive a dash decal, framed certificate, bumper sticker, lapel badge, and wallet card.

Preston named Province's chief field vet
Allan Preston DVM retires from active practice after 20 years to become Manitoba Chief Field Veterinarian. He will be based in Hamiota with province wide duties including liaison, extension work, disease investigation, and humane inspections. He starts July 1 and will work from the ag rep office in Winnipeg surrounding districts.
