Christ Church Hamiota announces no service on Sunday evening June 17 1945 due to a Memorial Service at United Church. The following Sunday May 24 the service moves to 11 o clock in the morning because of the Memorial Service at Miniota.
Rev. W. G. Onions to lead morning worship at 11 a.m. on Sunday June 17 1945. Church School follows at 12 15 p.m. A memorial service is planned for 7 30 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
Rev. B. T. Parkinson leads a Sunday evening service in the Orange Hall Hamiota at 7 30 pm with inspiring messages vocal numbers and instrumental music.
The W I Library will be closed from June 23 to September 1 with book returns due by June 23. Classified items include sale ads for a Burbank Range and plants, a chaplain’s overseas return, Father’s Day note, guest visits, a 50th anniversary, travel for Mrs. Bridge, a Co op meeting, and an auction of A Tewnson’s horses and implements on June 20 with terms and lunch.
The Army and Navy War Veterans announce a Memorial Service at Hamiota United Church on Sunday next June 17 at 7 30 p.m. Rev W G Onions and Rev B O Whitfiield will lead the service with Rev P C Bays of Portage la Prairie delivering the address.
James Alison Glen again leads the Marquette constituency with 5875 votes for Liberal-Progressive. Webb tallies 4750 and Ewbank 4509, giving Glen a majority of 1125. Hamiota polls show Webb ahead of Glen.
The regular W I meeting met in Orange Hall on Tuesday afternoon June 5. Mrs L King led the Creed. Delegates were chosen for the District Convention in Birtle June 21. Letters from overseas including Agnes Frazer were read. Next meeting set for September.
The Annual Memorial Service is set for Sunday June 17 at 7 30 p.m. in Hamiota United Church and blood donors are urged for the Red Cross Blood Bank. Call Dr Hudson or Rev W G Onions to give your name. Diocesan Woman’s Auxiliary meeting in Brandon last week was attended by Rev and Mrs B O Whitfield Mrs W H Josey and Mrs W E G Little. The Hamiota United Church Women’s Missionary Society will meet Tuesday June 19 at 3 p.m. in the church parlor with speakers Mrs B F Brooks and Miss Neelands.
