Measure Would Allow Legal Aid to Groups
Attorney General Roland Penner introduces a second reading bill to amend the Legal Aid Services Society of Manitoba Act. The change would let Legal Aid Manitoba provide aid to groups in public concern cases, notably consumer and environmental issues. It clarifies the board’s authority to issue certificates to groups such as Rossbrook House in protests like the Sherbrook McGregor overpass matter.
