Mrs B R McNaught attended the WI Convention in Winnipeg. Mr Harry McKague of Saskatoon is visiting the McConnells. Dr and Mrs McCullagh left for Winnipeg for United Church Conference. Various visits, meetings, and church appointments are noted plus a lost item, agricultural demonstrations, and a baseball tournament update. Hamiota holds several social and civic gatherings with announcements of weddings, fairs, and lodge activities.
The Decker Ladies Aid hosts a garden party at Norton Bros farm on Friday with games at 6 30 p m. Adult admission 25c, children and prizes for men senior and junior softball and ladies softball if enough teams enter. Proceeds from the strawberry festival totaled 51 00 with net receipts to go to the new church building.
The Oakner Ladies' Aid met at Mies McLenaguen's home in Hamiota with most members present. Mrs. W Park led devotion, Mrs. W Chambers spoke on Honolulu with illustrated curios, and duets by Miss V Hathaway and Mrs McCallum entertained. Oakner Consolidated School attended Kenton field day. high and junior teams placed well. The Chambers Cup challenge followed a basketball game against Hamiota. Oakner won 1-10.
