Manitoba group fights pesticide jug waste with recycling plan
Marquis Project Group operates in Brandon Acre and Keystone Agriculture Producers lead a Manitoba program that stores and recycles pesticide containers. About 500 000 jugs were collected last year 75 percent of provincial sales. Galloway says triple rinsing and 150 drop off sites boost safety while storage licencing, hearings, and future recycling are planned. Funding comes from a 1 per jug checkoff and provincial support with potential energy recovery ideas explored.
