Salvation Army Brass Band To Visit Clear Lake
The Brandon Salvation Army Brass Band plans a visit to Clear Lake on Sunday during the August Holiday weekend. Directed by Bandmaster J Watt, the ensemble of about twenty five instrumentalists will perform at 2 30 pm band stand 6 00 pm tourist camp and 8 00 pm bandstand featuring the new Clear Lake theme Was agaming by J H Arnett with Harold Ward leading the vocal party.

Lime Water For Preserving Eggs
Experimental Farm Notes describe making lime water to preserve eggs. Mix four to five pounds of lime with five gallons of water, stir to dissolve, let settle, and use only the clear liquid. Fresh eggs with sound shells are required. store in a five gallon crock, carefully placing eggs before covering with lime water.
Crock Preservation Method For Catering Use
The crock should be tightly covered to exclude air. A thin layer of patawar on top of the solution, then paper and secure tying. Store preserved goods in a cool place for best results.

Hamiota Fair Draws Large Crowd For 45th Year
A big crowd attended the 45th annual Hamiota Agricultural Society fair with about 1500 entries and 939 adults plus 313 children paid at the grounds. The Hamiota band provided music and the Hospital Ladies' Aid served the winner's family. a sale of work by the blind under W.1 and G. Wells of Winnipeg did well. Prize winners in the lucky tickets included Dorothy Runchey, Mrs Venables, Mrs McLeod, Mrs Bennett, T. Dillon, Mrs H. Graham, Verna Cochran, Mrs Geo Knight, Dorothy Butler, Glen Russell, Irene Andrew, Mrs M Woods, Mrs Gurr, Mrs McBain, and Mrs Thompson. Children’s work was praised. full prize list to be published next week.
