Oak River Economics Club competed in the Shoal Lake HamIota Rally at Shoal Lake on July 10, 1967. In the parade the club placed in the Blue Ribbon Group and several members earned judging unit honors in Clothing and Foods. The Educational Display Safety First won the Red Group Champion Award. Karen Espey and Wendy McCallum earned Junior Dress Revue recognition with 4 H Spoons.
