Canadian Health Costs and Border Insurance Debate

The author details high employer and family premiums and deductibles, noting a 20 percent share for workers and 35 percent for dependents until a 2500 deductible is met, with a $400 yearly back up insurer cost per couple. A young family case shows $450 monthly coverage and a $100 deductible with 80 percent insurer coverage beyond. The piece argues for limiting medical coverage at the border and paying full costs abroad to prevent taxpayer subsidies amid rising Canadian health costs.
