Pioneer of Hamiota District Dies in Vancouver
Alexander Kerr a pioneer of the Hamiota district dies at his Vancouver residence on July 4 1947 aged 75. Born in St Marys Ontario June 26 1872 he moved west with his family in 1881 and built a long career in the local lumber trade active in church civic business and lodge affairs. He retired in 1945 and moved to Vancouver with his wife Jeannie leaving a son Charles and two daughters Mrs Holl and Mrs Pellatt plus five grandchildren. Funeral services were held July 16 1917 at Simmons MacBride Chapel Vancouver with Rev T D Barnett officiating.
