A large turnout from 21 county schools attended the June 27 convention at Zion Methodist Church in Hamiota. Delegates discussed missions and temperance, urged a missionary offering, and supported Dominion Prohibition. Officers were elected for the coming year and noted speakers included MPP Mr. McConnell and Rev. Doyle with Mrs. Harrison contributing to the program.
The event featured Mrs Harrison delivering a thoughtful address and answering questions while Rev Middleton led the musical program with lively involvement. Revivalist speakers Reve Pate and Leech and other county participants contributed valuable material, with suggestions and inquiries fostering a constructive session.
At the High Court meeting in London in June the proposal to raise Insurance Rates was discussed and laid over until the next High Court meeting. Rates will not be raised for at least a year. Bro. Jno. Murray of Court Hamiota No. 367 attended as a delegate and will report on Wednesday July 18 in the Court room.
Programme for the eighth session at Shoal Lake School Grounds from July 16 to 18 outlines daily schedules. Included are camp arrivals, devotional periods, sermons by Rev. Hugh Dobson and Rev. W. Fryer, lectures by Dr. Cooke and Rev. Doyle, recreation, evangelistic services, and camp fires.
