On June 25 in Miniota 53 students from Kindergarten to grade 6 attended a bicycle safety clinic led by Malcolm Faulkner of the Manitoba Cycling Association. The morning covered safety tips and bike buying guidance for parents. lunch followed at the Community Centre. The afternoon featured obstacle course and races with prizes awarded by the Manitoba Cycling Association.
The Midwest Recreation Playground Program in Hamiota canceled after no participants attended the 6-12 year old session and only one joined the 3-5 year old session. The Hamiota Pool faces a mounting deficit due to broken inlet lines and heater repairs. Despite donations from the Legion Lions Club Kinsmen and RM Woodworth plus RCMP Golf profits, a $5,000 operational shortfall remains. Enrollment shifts and local support are critical to keeping the pool open.
Omission W I marks seven decades with a celebration noted in last week’s paper. Flowers donated by Merle Argue honored her grandmother a charter member and her mother in memory of long service and family tradition.
