Randy McKean and team Gordie Allison Doug Kyle and Murry Griffiths won the C event in Brandon earning gold watches. Lorna Rowan spotted two robins visiting a bird feeder last weekend. Dawn and Harold Wenzel of Komox B C visit Dawn’s parents Bill and Eleanor Cousins and family. Helen Wilson of Winnipeg spent the weekend with her mother Laura Long.
The club held a Drop In session to decide playoff advancement with top teams Maud Leland and Don na Bonner at 722 followed by Neil Rowan and Edna Reynolds and Muriel Stowe with Wilf Hill. Unclear how many couples advance or where the winner goes, as no official word has arrived. A later January 18 Bridge event shows scores led by Peg 3080 and Maud 2800 with Edna 2060.
The Miniota 4 H Beef Club held its January 9 meeting at the Miniota School at 7 30 p m with President Trevor Shewfelt in charge. Plans were set for an Appreciation supper on January 14 and a District Bonspiel on February 17 with prizes four per club worth 12 each. The club bonspiel date moved to March 17 and the next meeting is February 13. Julie Clark was selected to attend the Senior Conference in Brandon in February.
