Festival Syllabus Now Available for Area Music Festival
The syllabus for the April 15 18 music festival is available with entry forms at area schools. Spring classes include piano instrumental folk square dance and new offerings like gymnastics original compositions action songs and singing games. Non competitive options and small choirs allow groups to perform and receive evaluation.
Canadian Foresters Pin Presented at Park Residence
In the Park Residence lounge, John Gunson received a 70 year Canadian Foresters pin from Harvey Kirk C.R. Attendees included members of Court Arrow River Crandal, with Gunson’s service spanning roles from cheer keeper to Chief Ranger since joining on January 27 1902. Twenty family members across four generations attended and posed for photos.

HAMIOTA January 20 16 rinks competed in District 3 Senior Ladies Curling Playdowns at Hamiota. Hazel Westbrook and Dorothy Fraser rinks represented Hamiota with Westbrook winning two games while Fraser won two before elimination on Tuesday.

International visitors tour Hamiota Health Centre
On June 25 1974 Dr Alfredo Solari of Uruguay and Dr B Zeleke of Ethiopia visited the Hamiota District Health Centre with Mr John Sventson to study public health in Toronto and Manitoba. They praised the centre and its Senior Citizen Park Residence as an example of expanded community health services.
