Censors Vow to Ban Books Stir Saskatchewan Town
Fred McGuinness argues censors are alive in prairie communities as parents seek bans on works like Of Mice and Men and Go Ask Alice. He praises Tisdale trustees for resisting bans and defending literature’s role in education. He notes librarian groups and authors discuss censorship and urges hearings for would be censors. He writes from Brandon, Manitoba.
