The church marks the 4th Sunday after Epiphany with Sunday School at 10 30 a m and Morning Service at 11 15 a m followed by a sermon series on Christian worship and a 7 p m Evening Service on The Sacrificial Ministry of Christ all welcome.
Sunday schedule features Mr Little of Presbyterian Church as special preacher. Aim for record attendance to gain profit from his message. Sunday School and Bible Class at 12 10, Mr Little to speak before classes. Evening service at 7 with the sermon The things that make for Peace. CHUMAH at 2 pm, Sunday School and Bible Class at 3 pm, public worship listed.
Knox Presbyterian Church presents Praise in Divine Service with music by the choir and orchestra. Rev Geo Lockhart presides and Rev J W Little addresses the Sunday School. preaching by Rev J W Little at 3 p.m. Sunday School and Bible Class at 2 p.m. All invited to attend and support the Sunday School Convention this Thursday and Friday.
Knox Church Hamitoa held its annual meeting on Tuesday January 16 with strong representation. Rev Geo Tierkhart chaired the session. Chas Penny served as secretary. Reports praised progress across departments and solid finances with $4 916.78 raised for all purposes and $1 638.00 given to benevolences. Trustees and managers were elected for terms of three years.
The Lavinia UFM held its annual meeting on December 1 1922 with officers and directors elected for 1923. Appointments include Edgar Alexander president and W W Chappell financial secretary, plus committees for cattle shipments and social events. Delegates attended Brandon Convention. minutes read and adjournment followed.
The Oakner Congregational Church held its annual meeting on Thursday the 18th with Rev. Geo. Lockhart presiding. Alex Kerr named chairman and Chas Penny secretary treasurer as Kerr and Penny form the new Board of Management. Ushers Thos Strachan Kerr Fraser J E Wood and A D McConnell appointed. The report shows all obligations met and a year end treasury balance. Women’s Missionary Society notes a good year with increased missions contributions and benevolence. Sunday School and session reports show progress and loyalty. J R Rankin and Wm Allen chosen as managers for three years, joining Jno McCallum Thos Riddel J W Jonse and John Riddell Jr. on the board.
Officers teachers and friends are reminded of the Sunday School Convention in Zion Church on Thursday and Friday. Sessions start at 3 PM and 7 PM with Rev J W Little speaking each session. Mr Little is a leading Sunday School expert in Western Canada and will address Boys work. Taxis Boys invited to Friday supper 6 30 to 7 Principal Johanns son to preside. William Andrew to report on Boys Provincial Parliament. Function to end by 7 20.
