Oakoer junior hockey team defeated the Decker juniors 63 on Saturday with Principal Dov McLennan officiating. In Hamiota on January 14 news arrived via the International Red Cross that Sergeant James Norval Kirk RCAF is well though a prisoner of war. The loss of contact followed a July 14 notice that he was missing during an operational mission where he served as observer and air gunner. The community expresses relief and hopes for further information on his exact POW location.
