A bridal shower for Velma Cochrane was held in the Rest Room on Monday evening January 10. Corsages for Velma and her mother were given, with seating by Miss Shirley Mansell and Mrs. C. W. Jamieson. A playful Mock Wedding entertained guests with Serviteurs listed as Misses Shirley Frame, Shirley Allan, Shirley Mansell and Mary Warren.
The Agricultural Represent ative area held a four day meeting series from January 11 to 14 focusing on farm issues. Livestock sessions at Oakner McConnell Arrow River and Decker attracted 110 farmers and featured Norman McNaughton Brandon Experimental Farm highlighting better feeding and management. A Friday night meeting is proposed for January 26 with contact to the Agricultural Office, and Bonar Gorby will discuss Farm Management January 27–28. The local representative attends the Annual Agricultural Representatives Short Course in Winnipeg this week.
The notice lists Oak River Bonspies from February 21 to 26, 1955 with a Costume Carnival at Hamiota Rink on Friday February 4, 1955. Hana Siens Bonspies marks its 69th event from February 26 to March 4, 1955.
