The Oak River U C W met January 9 1991 with 15 members present. Merle Argue led the devotional Your New Year officers reported a busy year with activities including three suppers a wedding reception a fair meal an auction sale lunch and serving lunch after one event.
Oak River area notes celebrate the Russell Paddock and Stephanie Karpan wedding at The Pas on December 29. Attendees include family from Souris Brandon Rivers Winnipeg Ottawa and Calgary among others. The couple honeymoon in Hawaii two weeks starting December 31 and plan to live in Calgary after returning.
The Oak River 4-H Club met November 19 1990 at 7 15 PM with the pledge and motto. Five speeches were given and members planned a Christmas Stocking draw and a December 16 party at Cardale Rink with lunch and family skating. Uniforms were discussed white tops and blue wind pants. Tracy Everett was chosen senior selections with Megan Forsyth as alternate. Next meeting scheduled for January.
