Manitoba Legislature Unveils 1990 Budget Priorities
In the 1990 provincial budget our government keeps personal income taxes low and boosts health care education and family services. Health care remains top priority with one third of spending, plus $48 million for Family Services and $37 million more for Education and Training to prepare for the 21st century. We also expand environmental funding and support rural economic diversification with a five year, 90 million Canada Manitoba partnership for water infrastructure. The agricultural sector gains $46 million in new funding including GRIP and NISA safety nets to ease farmers’ hardship amid federal cuts.
