Hamiota Band Committee Chooses Glockenspiel

Hamiota Manitoba January gathering of the Women’s Institute drew 18 members. The 1977 officers were installed by Past President Thelma Morris. New President Phyllis Chappell opened with a New Year poem and candle lighting. A $10 donation to Horticultural Department and $5 to A C W W Well Fund were approved. Red Cross Convenor reported 400 sewn and 21 knitted items. Meeting ended with benediction.

Special Children's Flu Vaccine Arrives for Winnipeg
Winnipeg will receive a small supply of bivalent flu vaccine for under 18s to protect children in high risk groups. Health Minister Laurent Desjardins says the doses cover about 2,000 people and will be distributed through the Children's Centre cystic fibrosis and cardiac clinics, regional health offices, and the Winnipeg city health department. Children receive two doses one month apart while adults need only one.
