Age old formula fuels Rosebud revival and growth
The Rosebud revival began twenty years ago after research by Laverne Erickson showed most Calgary students had never left the city. Neighbours, churches, oil firms and co operatives funded the makeover turning the former general store into the Rosebud School of the Arts. The school trains in theatre and related arts and awards a degree after four years. The project brought tourism, infrastructure, and housing growth to Rosebud and nearby hamlets, guided by leadership, inspiration, perspiration, cooperation and sustained energy.
