Oak Lake Wins A Side in DECKER Minor Hockey Tournament
Decker Minor Hockey hosted an eight and under invitational with nine teams over December 27 and 28. Oak Lake, Hamiota, Decker, Rossburn, Foxwarren, and St. Lazare formed the A side with Oak Lake beating Hamiota in the final. McAuley, Kenton, and Birtle contested the B side, with Birtle winning the B side trophy.

Manitoba Hydro raises electric rates in April
Manitoba Hydro will raise electricity rates starting April 1. The increase, approved by the Government of Manitoba, is expected to lift net revenues for the fiscal year to 9.9 million dollars and push reserves to 84 million, though still below 1979-80 levels. Residential customers would see about a 1.35 dollar monthly rise for 700 kilowatt hours.

Seventeenth Manitoba Drug Formulary Set For 1985
Desjardins announced the Seventeenth Edition of the Manitoba Drug Standards and Therapeutics Formulary will take effect January 1, 1985. It lists interchangeable drugs to guide pharmacists physicians and dentists in filling prescriptions with lowest- price substitutions unless a handwritten do not substitute is given. Overall formulary prescription prices rise by less than 0.5 percent as some prices fall or stay the same. The committee of pharmacists and physicians prepared the formulary and the Manitoba government approved it.
